They say that money makes the world go round. We are born into a society in which money is considered to be the means to happiness. Sometimes money is also equated with happiness. Money helps us buy materialistic things that give us temporary pleasure and comfort. From the time we are in school, choosing a career is deemed to be the most important task. Before we even truly find where our interests lie, we are either forced or brainwashed into choosing a career that will make us large amounts of money.

However, our time on this planet is limited and we are not going to take the money we make to our grave. The money we do make in life should be a result of doing something we love. Spending precious time working in a job that you hate will stress you out. It will not satisfy you because you are only doing it for the money and nothing else. Your work will lack passion.

Money Can't Buy Happiness

Money can give you temporary pleasure but it cannot buy you lasting happiness. It is important to enjoy the work you do and do something that you are really passionate about. Working in a job that you dread for 8-9 hours a day for 5-6 days a week, you will be miserable. You will not have the time to enjoy the money you make. At the end, it does not matter how much money you finally make as long as you're happy, you will be satisfied. If you do not like your job, you will stress out and eventually cause yourself anxiety and health problems. You will finally end up spending a lot of money on hospital bills instead of using it to enjoy yourself.

Make work pleasurable

By doing what you love, work becomes pleasure. You will love what you do and put your passion into it. This also means that you would be more inclined to work harder, be more creative and open to new ideas. It also means that you will love waking up every morning and start working from where you left off the previous evening.

Work is not slavery

Working for a company you do not care about and doing a job you hate just to make ends meet is no short of slavery. However, it is self-inflicted slavery. When you do what you love and love what you do, you become your own boss. You have more control over your work environment.

Working Overtime Won't Kill You

There are times you may have to work overtime to meet deadlines. If you are in the wrong career, working overtime will stress you out. Worse, it can even make you hate your life and cause you to fall sick. However, if you like what you do, you will be happy to put in a little extra time and effort. You would also be happy with the final outcome due to the extra time you spent.

Days Off

When you are working in a career you hate, the working days seem longer and the weekends feel shorter. You cannot wait for your day off. Working for the weekend just makes you a slave to the system. When are in the career that you enjoy, you can finish working and take days off. Sometimes you may even want to return to work earlier. You will also have more time to yourself.

Success will follow

When you put your heart and soul into something, you are very likely to be successful. Passion is something that ignites the fire in your soul and it transpires into your work. You are also more likely to challenge the obstacles in your path and come out with creative solutions.

Career and Work Takes Most of our Life

The time we spend working consumes a major part of our lives. It is much better to do something you love rather than work in a job that makes you miserable.

You will be Satisfied in the end

While working is just a means to the end, when you finally make it, you will be completely satisfied. You can proudly say that you made it in life and did it your way. When you work for a company or job that is not fulfilling, you have very less chances of making it big. It is even worse when you are just stuck in the same rut for years. By then it may be too late to change your career path.

Time is on our side only if we want it to be. So make the most of your time and go for what you want in life.
